Wire flame spray Gun Metco 12E (Metco Metalizing Gun) uses a single wire that is entered in a jet flame. The temperature is close to 10,100 K, melting the wire. The air stream from the jet atomizes the molten particles, falling them onto the substrate.
The technological parameters, such as feedstock, flame spray gas composition, and flow rate, and energy input, play an important role in the relationship between the particles and the substrate.

A wire flame spray gun system uses a combustible gas mixed with oxygen to create a flame outside of the spray gun of approximately 5400° F. This is the heat source to melt the metal to be sprayed. The material to be sprayed is in the form of a wire that falls into the center of the flame where it is melted.
Wire flame spray gun technique uses metals and alloys in wire form as its spraying materials, and combustion flame or electric arc spray gun since its energy source. The molten metals are sprayed on the surface of the subject to make the coating. Every metals and alloy in wire form are ready for the material, such as copper, bronze, stainless steel, molybdenum, high carbon steel, and low melting point metals including zinc, aluminum, and others.
Once the wire is melted in the flame, the molten metal is atomized from a combination of the pressure from the flame and compressed air that is injected around the flame. The atomized molten metal now forms a stream, similar in appearance to a spray paint pattern, except this is a liquid metal.
The molten stream of metal is deposited on the component to be layered at a thickness of .0005″ (.0127mm) per pass to .003″ (.0762 mm) per pass. The variation of thickness per pass is depended on the material being coated and the amount of heat build-up in the part being coated.
The complete system includes the combustion wire gun complete in a metal case, air flow meters, air trio, gas regulators, flashback arrestors, gas flow meters, and a wire stand.
The Metco-2GF will control oxygen and fuel and is required to control the flow of gases for the WireJet series and the PowderJet series of guns. The standard system is configured to use acetylene and oxygen, other hardware is available to use propane, propylene, map, or natural gas.
The Metco 2AF is an airflow meter designed to control the airflow to the WireJet Series of guns.
Air Trio is created for the Wire Jet series gun, it has a particle filter, water trap and air pressure regulator built within one unit. There is another quick disconnect for cooling air jets or other auxiliary compressed air requirements.
Our wire stand manages both 1/8 inch and 3/16 inch open coils of wire reducing the need for spools. It has a built-in wire straightener that permits stable wire feed into the WireJet.

The standard wire size is 1/8″ (8 ga., 3.2mm), with different drive rolls and nozzle, you can also use 3/16″ (5 ga., 4.7mm); .091″ (11 ga., 2.3mm); and .057″ (15 ga., 1.4mm) wire as an option.
Characteristics of wire flame spray gun process coatings
Wire Flame spray gun is a robust and user-friendly wire metal spray system use for coating both ferrous and non-ferrous material. Key applicability are replacing worn-out elements, conductivity and anti-corrosion coating.
The wire is fed into the front torch through the air-driven turbine. Fuel gas like acetylene, LPG or Propane, and oxygen is properly and safely mixed in the siphon plug head assembly which in turn provides a combustible heat source. The molten metal is atomized and propelled by mean of compressed air in the form of fine metal spray for coating on job surfaces.
Generally, suitable for all metals and metal alloys in wire form are used for coating i.e. Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Zinc, Copper, Stainless Steel, Bronze, Molybdenum, Nickel Alloy, etc. Standard Wire use for flame spray purpose is generally 3.2mm or 4.8mm.
